Building Electrician job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Building Electrician to join our team to install, repair and maintain electrical systems in buildings. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and fixing electrical problems in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all electrical installations meet safety standards, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and codes.
Building Electrician job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in buildings, such as lighting, power distribution, heating, and ventilation systems.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify problems and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions using a variety of testing equipment.
- Plan and install new electrical systems, including determining the layout of wiring and fixtures and calculating electrical loads.
- Follow electrical codes and regulations when installing and repairing electrical systems.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as plumbers and HVAC technicians, to complete projects that require multiple trades.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with new electrical technologies, regulations, and safety practices.

Building Electrician job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
- Proven experience as a building electrician.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
The building electrician may work indoors or outdoors, depending on the project. The work may involve climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and working at heights. The electrician may also be required to work on weekends or evenings to meet project deadlines. The work may involve exposure to electrical hazards, such as electrical shocks or burns, and the use of personal protective equipment is required.
