A Ship Maintenance Helper is responsible for providing assistance to senior maintenance personnel in performing maintenance tasks on board a ship. The job duties may vary depending on the size and type of the ship, but generally, the responsibilities include:

Ship Maintenance Helper job Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and preparing the work area before and after maintenance activities.
- Assisting in repairing or replacing defective parts of ship machinery and equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, checking fluid levels, and cleaning filters.
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties, such as cleaning living quarters and common areas.
- Assisting in the inspection of the ship’s hull, deck, and superstructure for any signs of wear and tear or damage.
- Helping to maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Assisting in the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.
- Following all safety procedures and regulations while working on the ship.
Ship Maintenance Helper job Requirements:
To be qualified for a Ship Maintenance Helper job, a candidate should possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems, and ship operations.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments, such as confined spaces and heights.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Willingness to work long hours and irregular schedules, including nights and weekends.
